Nicolas Lagos

Wildlife biologist expert in felids

Nicolás Lagos is a natural resources engineer with a MSc in Nature Conservation.

Since 2007 he has worked in different research and conservation projects involving Chilean wildlife and ecosystems. He has mainly focused on the work with felids.

He is the research area coordinator for the Andean Cat Alliance, for which he has been developing educational, conservation and research programs for the Andean cat (Leopardus jacobita), America’s most endangered felid. He has worked as field assistant and scientific adviser in nature documentaries with Equilibrio Films, Nedo Producciones and Ammonite. In the last years he has been interested in promoting public awareness and involving human dimensions in the conservation of nature. His goal is to work together with country governments, institutions and communities to preserve Chilean wildlife and their habitats.
