Underwater Natural History Cinematographer
Mauricio Handler is a USA based professional underwater cinematographer with extensive wildlife experience in all oceans as well as fresh water environments.
Handler, born in Chile, was for many years part of the premier underwater photography team at National Geographic Magazine.
Since the creation of his production company Aquaterrafilms in 2011, Handler has dedicated himself exclusively to producing hard to get 4k+ content for use in film projects across all distribution platforms. His client base includes; National Geographic Television, Shark Week, ESPN, Disney, Dutch National Archives, Earth Touch Productions, CBS Nature, Curiosity Stream, WWF Chile, Discovery Daily Planet, and more recently the series Wild Chile (CHV).
As a field producer He was instrumental in the early story development of BBC's Blue Planet II deep sea Humboldt squid sequences filmed in Chile.
His goal on every assignment is to acquire hard to get underwater natural history content and blue chip sequences of the highest caliber for documentary as well as commercial projects and for his ever expanding 4k + footage library which is available for licensing.
